HPIM1035Does your Nail Technician wear a mask when she is working on your Nails?  Should you be scared if she does wear a mask while working on your nails?

Whether or not your Nail Technician wears a mask should not concern you…..she is merely protecting herself from over exposure to airbornne dust.

Some believe that it is the vapors from the monomer that concerns the Nail Technician, but that is just not true at all, these masks couldn’t possibly protect you or anyone else from harmful vapors, it is designed to filter particals in the air.

Take a look at my video below to explain this:

HPIM1032Have you seen one of these before?

I sure hope not, but if so, it has probably been used on you!

Take a look at my video below and find out why you should never let a nail technician use this on you!

Understanding Salon Terminology!

By Priscilla Brooks, August 11, 2009 2:43 pm

When determining what services you would like, it is sometimes very confusing to communicate what you actually want.  Many different nail technicians start using a “name” for a particular service, but that may not be the correct terminology.  So, what may be correct with one nail technician, may not be the same with another.  This should not be the case, but unfortunately many nail technicians do not take the necessary time to properly educate themselves.

I have obatined a document that attempts to explain all of the terminologies; the correct terminologies within a nail salon.

Just go to my articles page and click on the “Understanding Salon Terminology” Article to pick this up.

It will be very beneficial for you to educate yourself, so that you will be able to spot someone who is not.

Enjoy!  I hope you will come back again soon for more information on Nails!  If you have specific questions, please feel free to contact me.
